Post tournament report (Paris Tournament October 6th)

Well Good Afternoon Holland Ladies!!!!!
I hate post tournament Monday mornings!!! I was wrecked, my foot killed, my muscles ached and I could hardly get my eyes to open. I really wanted to send the tournament report out yesterday but I just couldn't get my brain to work!!! Ohhhhh but how much better Monday morning felt when we had just won the tournament in Paris and ensured that we are still on the frontline of the battle to win the European Championships.
I really have to say girls....we absolutely played as a TEAM!! Every person in the panel that headed down to Paris played a part in this great win!!! There were so many potential injuries on the list that we really needed our subs to win the round games to ensure that we got to the final!! And every single player stood up to the challenge and played great football :o) And as for the final.....this was more than just skill and fitness....it was, as Mary Gavin said, determination, blood, sweat and tears!!! We knew what we had to do and there was no Paris team that was going to get in our way of making sure that we were still in the running for being crowned European Champions 2007 in Barcelona!!!!! We really dug in when it mattered most and put in 1000% in that second half to ensure a win.....I was so proud of each and every member of the team :o)
Everyone really put their heart on their sleeves and I guess it’s when it matters most and you have to 'win to stay in' that a team shows its true colours :o)

No doubt that this was Miss Sheehan herself!!! She seemed to have boundless energy from when we left Den Haag HS station on Friday until she collapsed into bed on Sunday night!!!! I think her aim at the start of the weekend was to score on the pitch, score off the pitch and win the tournament - well 2 out of 3 ain't bad :o) |

Was there any need for the energy that was still at full flow at 09.00 on Sunday morning?!!!! I think it will be a close call here between Marie's singing and Maeve's endless talking and bopping around every ones rooms!!!!! |

So we have only one thing left to do now.....bring it on; bring it on; bring it on!!!
Barcelona - Saturday 3rd Nov 2007 - Final Round of the European Championships!!!
Our chance to put the nail in the coffin and bring the European Cup back to where it belongs :o)
That leaves less than 4 wks and less than 10 training sessions until then.....so we need everyone out at every training so we can be at optimal fitness, so that our legendary skills are honed and so that we are ready as a TEAM to win the European Cup.
